Evidence and neutrality

Every intervention, on the evidence

Grovera grades interventions by outcome and by population, says plainly when evidence is uncertain, and does not take sides.

The evidence map

Intervention × outcome domain × population

An intervention can have good evidence for one outcome and little for another, or for one age group and not another. So each cell is graded separately, for each age range and level of support needs.

Intervention category Core features Adaptive behavior Quality of life Family burden
Behavioral and developmental-behavioralIncluding ABA, discrete trial teaching, naturalistic developmental-behavioral approaches
Speech and communicationIncluding speech-language support and AAC
Occupational and sensoryIncluding occupational therapy and sensory-based approaches
Parent-mediated and social skillsIncluding parent training and group social-skills programs
Psychological and educationalIncluding CBT and school-based supports
MedicationEvidence only. No doses, no brand names
Complementary and alternativeReviewed for evidence of no benefit and of harm

Structure only. Each cell holds a grade and its sources for every age range and level of support needs. Outcome domains follow the ICHOM standard set for autism; ADHD uses symptom and functional domains.

Grading

Four GRADE levels

Systematic reviews, randomized trials and single-case designs are graded separately. Single-case studies count when they meet published replication standards; an intervention supported only by single-case studies is graded moderate at most.

High Further research is very unlikely to change confidence in the effect.
Moderate Further research may change the estimate. The highest grade for single-case evidence alone.
Low Further research is likely to change the estimate.
Very low Any estimate of effect is very uncertain.
Flags

Stating the evidence, not labels

Complementary and alternative approaches, such as chelation, hyperbaric oxygen, restrictive diets and stem-cell products, are reviewed with particular attention to evidence of no benefit and of harm.

Evidence shows no benefitControlled studies found no effect on the outcome in question.
Evidence of harm reportedAdverse events are documented in the literature or by regulators.
Evidence uncertainEvidence is uncertain here. Here's how to find out for this child.

Grovera does not use words like pseudoscience or scam. It shows what the studies found, with sources.

Review and release

Who checks the evidence map

Two independent expertsEvery grade is reviewed by two experts working separately; disagreements are settled and recorded.
Checked against published reviewsGrades are compared with the conclusions of NCAEP, Autism CRC and Cochrane reviews, and every difference is explained.
Autistic adult advisory councilBeing formed. It will review outcome domains and wording before Grovera Family launches.
Release gate 2027-05 target
Agreement with NCAEP, Autism CRC and Cochrane conclusions≥ 90%
Statements that open to a source passage saying the same thing100%
Outputs rated acceptable in blind expert review≥ 80%

These are targets. Published figures will carry the set name, size and date.

Neutrality

Commitments that keep Grovera neutral

  • Contested interventions are graded, not judgedABA and other debated approaches are stated by evidence grade and outcome domain. Grovera does not defend or criticize any of them.
  • No hours limits, no stop instructionsDose evidence is shown as a range with its uncertainty. Decisions stay with clinicians and families.
  • Not a tool for denying carePayer contracts restrict use: Grovera output may not be the sole basis for denying or limiting care.
  • No interventions of our ownsynlayer does not deliver interventions, so it has nothing to sell in the comparisons.
  • No ranking or recommending providersGrovera does not refer families to specific organizations, and Grovera Family shows no advertising.
  • Outcomes include quality of lifeOutcome domains include quality of life and, for older children, their own report.
Regulation and children's data

Built for clinicians, careful with families

Clinician product
Designed as non-device clinical decision support under the FDA's January 2026 guidance. It shows evidence and data, and never issues an instruction to stop an intervention.
Grovera Family
General health information about interventions, not advice about any child. A consumer-side compliance review is completed before launch.
Children's data
Handled under HIPAA and COPPA. Collect the minimum. Parent-reported measures are linked to the clinician view only with the clinician's authorization.
